PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Set up, repair, calibrate and adjust working level instruments in accordance with established procedures.

WORKING PROCEDURE AND/OR RESPONSIBILITY ASSIGNED:

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT, NOR THE QUESTION BEING RAISED ON THE PROPER RATE OF PAY FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.

  • Set up laboratory standards and calibrate working level instruments in accordance with established procedures. Make calculations as necessary.
  • Adjust, maintain and repair instruments as required.
  • Inspect new measuring instruments to determine compliance to specifications.
  • Record data, maintain calibration records, and compile data as required.
  • Perform similar or lower classified work as required.

DIRECTION RECEIVED
  • Occasional technical assistance from Laboratory Engineers and Technicians.
  • General assistance and instructions from immediate supervisor on routine assignments. Specific instructions on new assignments.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
  • High school plus one (1) year technical or college training in engineering, fundamental physics and electrical theory or the recognized equivalent such as one year performing related instrument calibration or repair work that would be acquired in a military or commercial laboratory or in a commercial shop.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

  • 4 years experience in manufacturing environment.
