The position of Director Category Management will be Remote!

Summary
The Director Category Management is responsible for directing the largest category within the company that includes Rockwell, ABB, Eaton, Schneider, Siemens, Generac and other Power Distribution, Equipment, and Control suppliers. Responsible for leading two people in the Supplier Relations department, along with an indirect responsibility for others on the team. Will also be responsible for working with the organization's Global 3S Group and Global Supplier Managers in Europe.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead the Power Distribution and Control Category
  • Oversee staff selection, performance management, goal setting, training, and development
  • Develop and supervise team members to motivate positive attitude, career growth, and strong performance results
  • Evaluate workloads, determine priority, and implement changes to continuously improve productivity and efficiency
  • Work with all Regions on their strategies and opportunities with Power Distribution and Control partners
  • Work with the Rexel Global Leaders within each designated strategic supplier
  • Represent Rexel USA with global suppliers at the Senior Leadership level
  • Develop and execute on National Supplier Strategy objectives with strategic suppliers
  • Perform annual planning and quarterly reviews to confirm that plans are on track and primary objectives are being met
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in Category Management or Purchasing activities
  • Sales and Category Management experience required
  • Experience working for electrical distribution and/or electrical manufacturers in the electrical industry is required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of the power distribution and control market as well as the suppliers and their relationship with distribution and customers
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a distributor organization to proactively implement the business plan
  • Ability to lead high-level discussions with senior leaders
  • Ability to negotiate with senior leaders for win-win scenarios
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, with the ability to present in individual or group settings
  • Ability to promote the organization's value-add proposition to suppliers
  • Flexible and able to multitask daily
  • Strong prioritization and time-management skills
