This is an exciting role in the Jack Henry Payments division that’s geared towards onboarding new customers to our bill pay product offering. This is accomplished by loading payment data from our new customers’ previous bill pay provider into Jack Henry’s system with high levels of quality and care. We’re seeking a strong advocate of quality in data engineering, continuous process improvement, and someone who thrives in a culture of continuous learning.

Our team is distributed, which means you can live and work anywhere within the US. This position requires high levels of flexibility in the work schedule, as there’s instances where evening and weekend work take place to optimally service our customers; however, team members get to take that time off the following week to optimize work-life balance. You will get the chance to continuously find and execute on improvements that heighten efficiencies of your tasks while leveraging the newest technologies available to do so.
This position can be based to work out of any Jack Henry office or remote from any US location, but must work typical Eastern Time business hours. Pay range for this position is $55-125k, depending on candidate experience and geographic location.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Collaborates with the team on all data related projects for onboarding and offboarding our customers.
- Assists in the automation of all data engineering processes.
- Collaborates with team on data management best practices.
- Assists in documenting all team-related data engineering processes.
- Coordinates with other teams to ensure duties are completed on-time and accurately. Ensures proper evening and weekend coverage, when applicable.
- Adheres to internal and client related compliance and data security standards with all activities.
- May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data engineering or software development.
- Proficiency in working with MS SQL (SSMS) and T-SQL
- Proficiency in importing and exporting of data
- Working knowledge of Relational Database Concepts and proficiency in understanding database schemas.
- Experience in creating or modifying SSIS packages.
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends, as needed.
What would be nice for you to have:
- Proficiency in data mining.
- Proficiency in deciphering stored procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree or technical education or certifications through technical boot camps
- Experience with automation of manual and process-driven systems.
- Demonstrated experience with ETL Toolset.
- Understands and follows data manipulation best practices.
- Experience automating tasks with tools such as SQL Server Agent, PowerShell, or like tools.
- Ability to write, review, and refine database objects, including stored procedures, triggers, tables, indexes and other database objects.
- Some experience with C# code, particularly within SSIS packages.
- Proficiency with data cleansing and standardization best practices.
- Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
- Assists team members to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.
- Able to multi-task and resolve issues.
- Understands the need to regard confidential customer and company information with the highest regard.
- Meets deadlines and demonstrates the ability to deliver under pressure.
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills.
