Who Are We Looking For?


We are looking for a Press and Digital Assistant to join the Executive Team. You will be working directly with the CEO and Executive Staff on a daily basis. This position is responsible for assisting with communication and engagement strategies and implementation that generate partnerships on behalf of the CEO. Responsibilities include: handling all press and media communications internally and externally for the CEO, working as a liaison for the CEO to the Executive Management team, and managing a communications calendar for the organization.

Essential Functions:


  • Strategic communications planning: Assist in identifying the key initiatives, and work with leadership on long-term planning, including the development of editorial calendars and message development.
  • Produce outstanding written materials: Develop a variety of written materials including press releases, media advisories, talking points, opinion pieces, web content, and other materials per the CEO’s request.
  • Assist in identifying media opportunities and implement plans and strategies to promote priorities in print, broadcast and electronic media.
  • Assembles and creates content on behalf of the CEO, including monthly e-newsletters.
  • Assist in the development of materials and scripts, and oversee production of audio/video programs and PSAs on behalf of the CEO.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the CEO.
  • Plan or assist with special events such as open houses, fundraisers, outreach and community events, tours, press conferences, banquets, exhibits, webinars and other events.
  • Ensure positive media relationships are maintained (e.g. speaking events).
  • Utilize digital communication methods to provide effective communication to varying audiences (e.g. online webinars, events, fundraisers).
  • Manage external communications efforts on behalf of the CEO, including: Press releases, talking points, press conferences, briefing packages, presentations, and documents.
  • Measure and report outcomes and propose appropriate changes to communications efforts to leadership and team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing communications, mass communications, public relations and/or similar professional experience.
  • 5+ years experience in public relations, external communications, event planning/management, media and production is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and advising on communications strategies, to include focused messaging to specific audiences.
  • Experience in the development, drafting, editing, publishing, distribution, coordination of various communication deliverables.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work within tight deadlines.
  • Superior relationship management skills
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on all aspects of team priorities.
  • Any understanding of the medical, data science, and technology industry is a plus.
