SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Installation, Maintenance, and Repair of electrical equipment and wiring. Assets to maintain include Substations, Feeders, Circuit Breakers, Lighting, Outlets, Wire, Signs, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Must pass examinations in initial RWP and AMT-2 Classes.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of maintenance of electrical assets.
• Must have prior satisfactory work attendance record, work performance, and safety record.
• Troubleshooting electrical problems and what is required to make repairs
• Drive CDL vehicles for the department in various locations.
• Other duties as assigned.

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

The hourly rate is $36.84 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment). In accordance with DOT regulations (49 CFR § 40.25), Amtrak is required to obtain prior drug and alcohol testing records for applicants/employees intending to perform safety-sensitive duties for covered Department of Transportation positions. If an applicant/employee refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records, the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive functions.
