OVERVIEW:
The infantry is the main land combat force and the backbone of the Army. It’s also the starting point for many advanced schools such as Special Forces, Airborne School, Ranger School, Sniper School, and Pathfinder School.
JOB DUTIES:
- Defend the country against any threat by land.
- Capture, destroy, and repel enemy ground forces during combat.
REQUIREMENTS:
Those who want to serve must first take a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you.
TRAINING:
Enlistees attend Infantry One Station Unit Training for 14 weeks, which primarily takes place in the field, as well as the classroom.
During training, they will list their specific infantry job preferences, although assignments are determined by the needs of the Army. Upon graduation from One Station Unit Training, they are assigned to one of the following infantry specialties:
- Infantryman (11B).
- Indirect Fire Infantryman (11C).
EARN CASH FOR IN-DEMAND JOBS:
You could earn up to $40,000 in cash bonuses just for enlisting under certain Military Occupational Specialties.
EDUCATION BENEFITS:
In the Army, qualified students can earn full-tuition, merit-based scholarships, allowances for books and fees, plus an annual stipend for living expenses.

PARTNERSHIP FOR YOUTH SUCCESS (PAYS) PROGRAM:
