We are looking to fill a Java Developer (IS Systems Development Services Specialist) who will provide leadership to IT professionals on the adaptation and use of Java development tools and methods. You will work with various DOT business areas to develop solutions with many complex variables and help in migrating Struts applications to Spring Boot framework using Angular framework.
This full time permanent position is located within the Bureau of Information Technology Services, Division of Business Management, Department of Transportation headquartered at the Hill Farms State Office Building on the near west side of Madison. We are also conveniently located close to the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment of the Hilldale Mall.

This position is in schedule-range (07-33) with an annual salary of $72,800 - $98,800, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.

Certain positions within this Department may allow hybrid/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This position specifically will allow for remote work up to 3 days per week, with 2 days per week reporting to the Hill Farms State Office Building in Madison, WI. This topic and any hybrid work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process. For permanent positions that allow hybrid work flexibility, Wisconsin residency is not required. However, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because of the 2 days per week minimum requirement working at the office.
