Assists the Registered Nurse in the delivery of nursing care. Practices nursing in accordance with Nursing/Hospital Policy, and Florida Nurse Practice Act. Care is rendered in accordance with physicians’ orders, recognized nursing techniques, established standards, policies and procedures. Works under the direction of an RN in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. Contributes to the support of ShorePoint Health's nursing strategic plan (healthy work environment, clinical excellence, optimal patient outcomes). Meets annual hospital mandatory education requirements.

With over 50 years of providing healthcare services to Charlotte County, ShorePoint Health Port Charlotte continues to provide quality, compassionate healthcare to residents of Charlotte County and surrounding areas. ShorePoint Port Charlotte is a 254-bed full-service facility with a care team comprised of roughly 900 associates, 100 volunteers, and over 300 physicians specializing in over 40 specialties. ShorePoint Health Port Charlotte is a full-service facility offering services in emergency care, primary stroke center, orthopedics and the only licensed obstetric and pediatric units and Level II neonatal intensive care unit in Charlotte County. The on-campus Southwest Florida Heart Center is an accredited chest pain center with PCI offering comprehensive cardiac services.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current FL LPN Licensure
• IV Certification
• BLS Certification
• 1 year of LPN experience, preferably in a hospital setting.

• Able to work in stressful conditions. Good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to relate to patients, staff, physicians and visitors in a positive and compassionate way.

• Previous experience in an acute care clinical setting preferred.
