Job Description

This is a position for assembly line manufacturing. The person should be reliable, arrive on time every day and be able to work a full shift. Hours can range from 8-12 per day in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in some of the work environment may require the use of personal protective equipment.

The above describes the physical and visual activities that are commonly associated with the performance of the essential functions of the job. . The ability to stay organized, focused, and demonstrate appropriate time management to meet project deadlines is essential to being successful in this role.

Employer will provide basic tools during initial first 90 days of employment. Employer will provide manufacturing specific specialty power or hand tools.

With opportunities for overtime on Friday and Saturdays.

Electro-Mechanical Assembler Technician.
Level 1 – 0-12 months experience (Entry).
Level 2 – 6 months – 2 years’ experience (Intermediate).
Level 3 – 2+ years’ experience (Advanced).
Level 1:
  • Attention to detail is a MUST.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, while working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while standing, walking, lifting, and moving for up to 10-hours a day.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Documents actions by completing production quality forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, takes direction, and stays on task, completing work quickly and accurately with minimal mistakes.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.
Level 2 – Everything above, plus:
  • Communicates with management, materials, engineering, quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, including assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Demonstrates good problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and apt to generating continuous improvement.
  • Promotes 6S principles in all manufacturing areas.
Level 3 – Everything above, plus:
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor or lead to obtain additional resources.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Oversees all training of new associates. Documents training and associate understanding of processes. Cross trains associates to effectively perform at multiple stations within the department.

Physical Requirements:
  • Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of time.
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally.
  • Walk, stand, or otherwise move about continuously.
  • Exposure to typical shop physical hazards which may require eye, ear, foot, and hand protection.
  • Some operations may require extended times sitting and grasping for materials or piece parts.
Essential Skills:
Level 1 and 2
  • Ability to learn interactively. Social perceptiveness and fine attention to detail, as well as the ability to actively listen, analyze, and understand the needs/wants of others. Ability to effectively communicate with others both verbal and written. Reading and comprehending instructions and following established procedures.
  • Collecting all material and equipment needed to begin the process.
  • Aligning material and putting together parts to build more complex units.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.

Level 3 – Everything above, plus:
  • Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and outlook.
Minimum Qualifications:
Level 1
  • Ability to properly use hand/power tools onsite.
  • Mechanically and/or Electrically Inclined.
  • Be reliable and able to perform the work each day.
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, including assembly instructions, blueprint or schematic specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate or diploma in a trades, engineering or relevant discipline is a PLUS.
  • Provide own basic hand tools within 90 days of employment. Usually, a minimal investment of $50 or less.
Level 2 – Everything above, plus:
  • Minimum of 6+ months reading and interpret blueprints and schematics, mechanical and electrical documents, and drawings.
Level 3 – Everything above, plus:
  • Minimum of 2+ years reading and interpret blueprints and schematics, mechanical and electrical documents, and drawings.
