Overview:

The Prenatal Nurse Navigator will serve as a guide, knowledge expert and resource for a specific patient population expectant moms and their babies. The navigator will be responsible for pediatric service line growth by serving as a connector for new mothers to Mercys pediatric providers.

With intimate knowledge of and connection to Mercy hospitals, clinics and providers and systems, the navigator will provide tactical support to achieve the growth objectives of the program. Through consistent communication with patients, plus routine data collection, analysis and reporting, the navigator supplies leadership with information for strategic planning.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:
  • Education: BSN or Associate's degree in nursing or related healthcare field
  • License: Registered nurse or licensed healthcare professional
  • Experience: 10+ years of direct patient care in pediatrics, neonatal care, labor and birth and/or OB/GYN services
  • Other: Strong clinical understanding. Ability to work independently and be self-directed. Ability to develop quick connections with patients and maintain relationships over time. Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously. Computer and software skills including Epic, MS Office, PowerBI and Qualtrics. Ability to work with a wide range of co-workers and leaders throughout the organization with the highest degree of professionalism.
