Duties

• Assist in the preliminary examination of patients prior to their evaluation by the optometrist by
• Perform a variety of screening and technical procedures.
• Assist patients in their selection of spectacle frames.
• Facilitate delivery of spectacles to patients via mail or telephonic notification.
• Shape spectacle frames to fit the contours of patients' face and head and perform any required repairs or spectacle part replacements.
• Accurately set-up, program, run and document results from various ophthalmic screening and testing devices.
• Clean and perform first echelon maintenance on ophthalmic equipment within the clinic.
• Perform administrative support functions for the clinic.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position may require that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• A Childcare Background Check (CNACI) is required. This position has a specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require contact with children.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
• This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
• This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
