What you’ll do:


As the Project Manager within our Blue Arc™ division based in Plymouth, MI, you will be accountable for overseeing the product emergence of BlueArc™ EVs and expanding new product lines. You will also be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from inception to production, and ensuring that specific objectives and deliverables are achieved.

You will also be responsible for monitoring scheduling, unit profitability, development budget, manufacturability, and technical compliance of the EV. You will accomplish this by deploying Shyft Innovation’s Product Development Process and by bridging the gaps between different departments.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering programs on time and within budget
  • Control programs from cradle to grave with exact awareness
  • Achieving continuous improvement within the program, department, division, and corporation.
  • Establish a Cross Functional Team and manage the deliverables of the members - Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Compliance, Product & Process Engineering
  • Manage the Product Development process through the application of the project work plan, phased gate reviews, program financial dashboard, open issues/action register list, file/document structures, concept review, and prioritization
  • Keeping tasks on time and maintaining accountability
  • Oversee the chair program audits at phase milestones to include key deliverables
  • Informing executive management of project roadblocks
  • Recommend actions to overcome and seek gate approval from the Executive panel
  • Partnering with Division Controller on consolidated reporting of financial summary (Margin, Budget v. Spend)
  • Holding cross-functional teams accountable to governing processes, program deliverables, and due dates
  • Acting as a role model of behavior and being a reliable source for issues to be resolved
  • Maintaining data integrity by thorough and organized record-keeping and retrieval
  • Supporting strategic business planning and technical reviews.
  • Collaborating with procurement to establish part requirement dates, support delivery, and audit quality acceptance criteria
  • Work alongside manufacturing to support build specifications, process controls, and overall quality
  • Developing knowledge of competitor capabilities and industry trends
  • Utilizing your understanding of the market and business climate to make recommendations and decisions
  • Driving early supplier involvement and critical selection
  • Reporting project status on a regular basis at the division and corporate level
  • Being proactive about countermeasures by escalating issues for executive awareness and counsel
  • Communicating heavily with Sales to understand customer needs and key measurables
  • Establishing objective product plans
  • Driving Shyft Innovation corporate and division processes to be responsive


What you need to be successful:


  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, or recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant experience
  • 10+ years of automotive/heavy truck industry expertise
  • 3+ years of experience in applied Program Management
  • Project management experience
  • A track record of effectively coordinating multiple projects within a cross-functional, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Project and Teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally
