Job Summary
As part of the FPRMO, the Revenue Cycle - Professional Fee Coding Supervisor will provide support in areas of professional fee revenue operations as it relates to the management of designated work queues and assigned projects for all units within the department.
Responsibilities include monitoring staff productivity in the work queues, and ensuring charge sessions are being resolved and deferred items are being appropriately followed up on. Duties also include taking part in the escalation process of contacting physicians and administrators for documentation deficiencies towards the goal of decreasing charge lag.
The Supervisor must be flexible and adept at juggling multiple tasks with competing priorities. He/she must ensure prompt and professional responses to staff, faculty, and administrative questions related to job responsibilities. Duties include researching billing questions, working the billing work queues when coverage is needed, training staff, updating billing workflow processes, and understanding front-end and back-end charge workflows to be able to identify opportunities for improvement.
The Supervisor must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively and promptly with all levels of faculty, management, and staff within a deadline-driven and team-oriented environment. He/she is responsible to provide updates to the management team on work queue status, staff productivity/performance, and escalating potential billing problems to management. It is crucial that this position provides ongoing updates and ensures complete transparency to the management team.
He/she must demonstrate the ability to perform all duties in a professional and courteous manner and will conform to all UCSF and HIPAA policies and procedures.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however, a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
