Job Description
A seasoned project manager is required to support Cyber Command leadership in the management and optimization of its portfolio of established citywide cybersecurity programs and evolving suite of cybersecurity controls deployment. These programs have significant complexity across many City agencies, stakeholders, other cybersecurity entities in government and the private sector, and our information-sharing partners. The PM will work directly with Security Sciences program managers, its FTEs, consultants, and vendors; coordinate with legal, contracting, finance, and communications teams to manage multi-functional team coordination, opportunity screening, develop RFI and RFP, benefit/cost analysis, vendor selection, work plan scheduling, budget oversight, contractor management, issue resolution, reporting and project closeout functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translating leadership’s vision into an achievable implementation plan
- Lead daily project meetings in accordance with Security Sciences’ established policies.
- Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
- Manage Proofs-of-Concept (PoC) trials for new technology solutions as part of ongoing projects or as independent projects.
- Conduct frequent risk assessments and cost-benefit analyses to identify and resolve issues that may disrupt projects.
- Coordinate and manage the overall service or product provided to a customer end-to-end.
- Provide weekly project reports and metrics to key stakeholders.
- Liaise with other city government agencies to facilitate project completion.
- Build and maintain professional contacts with customers, stakeholders, and vendors.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered
- Minimum 8 years’ experience managing technical projects.
- At least one year of agile development experience
- At least one year of experience managing DMARC implementation projects and programs.
- At least one year of experience managing enterprise level email security projects and programs.
- At least one year of experience managing projects focused on network intelligence and network security monitoring.
- Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information System Management, Business Administration (or significant coursework in these areas)
- Prior experience working with local, state, or federal government entities.
- Experience leveraging Jira, Trello, ServiceNow or other modern project management tools to manage technical projects.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Industry recognized project management certifications (ex: PMP, CSM, CSP-SM)
- Industry recognized cybersecurity certifications (ex: Security+, CISM, CISSP, GIAC Certifications)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: N/A
- Occasional support outside of core business hours to accommodate 24/7/365 operation.
