The Senior Workforce Analytics Analyst invest s in our Purpose by supporting a Station Director and a portfolio of Stations with workforce planning. This role oversees headcount planning, bid scheduling, budget analysis , and other ad hoc duties to ensure all Stations are properly positioned to operate . The Senior Workforce Analytics Analyst is a strategic thinker and strong communicator who looks forward to making a meaningful impact on Ground Operations at Southwest.

This role is offered as a remote workplace position, which may require travel for training, meetings, conferences, etc. Outside of those required visits, the majority of your working time may be spent in a remote location, away from our Corporate Campus. Job Summary
Responsible for supporting Southwest Leaders through planning, analysis, and staffing solution development to drive efficiency, productivity, and desired operational performance.
Responsibilities
Work closely with assigned Stations and key Leaders throughout the workforce planning/scheduling process providing information, analysis, and guidance as appropriate
Conduct Operational Staff planning and analysis by facilitating the development of staffing models with defined labor standards that accurately represent Station staffing needs

Conducts operational staff planning and analysis by:
Gathering operating data associated with the results of Southwest's operations
Examining and analyzing data using appropriate methods and tools
Developing and evaluating staffing models to meet operational needs
Preparing and delivering reports/presentations to share results with Southwest Leaders
Provide oversight and guidance on managing headcount and hours, and maintain accountability of a budget of over $1.5 billion
Deliver analysis and solutions that illustrate a clear understanding of the business problem at hand as well as the broader impact across the Operational group and Company
Research Department budget performance, assist in forecasting, and address any concerns to maintain accurate performance views
Collaborate on the development of better methods and tools to support workforce planning and management
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Ability to produce several ideas about a topic (the number of ideas is important, not their quality, correctness, or creativity)
Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among unrelated events)
Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Preferred knowledge of analytical tools such as Macros, SQL, and Tableau Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED

Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in analytics and operations

Pay & Benefits

Competitive market salary from $84,350 per year to $93,700 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
