The Big Picture:

Mortenson’s Denver office is seeking a smart, energetic, and creative individual to join our marketing and business development team. As Senior Marketing Coordinator, your primary responsibilities include the management and creation of proposals and presentations that differentiate Mortenson, as well as partnering with team members to research, create, and distribute marketing messaging. Additional projects include internal and external communications such as award nominations, articles, press releases, newsletters, storytelling, and special events.

We’re looking for a strong writer with the ability to collaborate with a variety of team members at all levels in a fun, ever-changing environment.

The hourly compensation range for this role is $31.49 - $42.50 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%)

Hourly pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skill and experience with consideration given to internal equity.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the proposal process, including gathering, verifying, writing, and formatting proposal information
  • Initiate and lead internal proposal meetings
  • Prepare project, company, and team member award submissions
  • Write, design, and assemble marketing and communications collaterals, including newsletters, special event materials, electronic and print mailings, presentations, and brochures
  • Support public and media relations, write/edit news releases and other articles
  • Participate in overall strategy development, research, and capture targeted strategies in all marketing materials
  • Draft and interpret messaging and technical information through compelling stories and graphics

How will you succeed?

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills (grammar, spelling, proofing, conciseness, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to be flexible within a deadline-driven environment
  • Creative with an eye for detail and design
  • Ability to listen and formulate ideas into strategy and key messages
  • Adaptive, effective communication and interpersonal skills with those of diverse organizational levels and backgrounds
  • Resourceful; self-starter; proactive solution seeker based on information and judgement
  • Professional, positive attitude

Education/Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, or similar field
  • Four to six years of experience in a similar role preferred
  • Experience in the construction, engineering, or architectural industry a plus
