Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for conducting technical quality assurance inspections and using results to improve production processes and standards.

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

  • Assures optimum control of quality so that raw material and/or finished products conform to existing requirements, standard operation procedures, and governmental regulations and adheres to all Quality Systems Requirements (QSR) and ISO standards.

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Perform other duties assigned as needed

  • Performs tests and analyses to assure that products comply with established specifications. This includes activities such as sample breakdown, verification and Instron pull testing conducted at Finished Goods department, as well as additional testing required on other manufacturing areas.

  • Carries out calculations and prepares documentation that shows the results of tests performed.

  • Completes record of inspection results, acceptance, rejection and disposition for entry into logbooks or computer systems (i.e. LIMS).

  • Recommends and implements revisions, corrections and changes to test equipment, procedures and methods.

  • Participates on special requests for product testing, such as qualification protocols

  • Initiates and coordinates discussions with quality, engineering and other relevant departments to develop corrective actions for reoccurring problems

  • Conducts training for lower level technicians

  • Ensures proper safety and environmental procedures and practices are utilized

  • Troubleshoots issues with equipment / business systems used in finished goods

  • Lead or co-lead departmental and company continuous improvement activities.

  • Assists with recording nonconformance issues.

  • Utilizes Standards of Leadership and the Credo.

  • Meets functional area goals and yearly strategic imperative project timelines.

  • Comply with all applicable quality management system, environmental, safety and occupational health policies. (for example, ISO 13485, ISO14001 & OSHAS18001).

  • The San Angelo Plant is a 24/7 operation; weekends and holidays are included in the work schedule.

Qualifications

  • High School/Secondary Education or Equivalent (preferably school coursework in mathematics) required.

  • 2-4years of relevant experience in training position is preferred

  • Good interpersonal relations and communication skills required

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer software recommended.

  • Good organizational and self-motivation skills required.

  • Strong adherence to quality, attendance and performance standards required

  • Must be able to work as a team player with Operations Associates/Facilitators, Engineers, Planning, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Associates across multiple business partners and provide a high degree of customer service.

  • Must be detailed oriented and be able to calculate time increments.

  • Must be able to speak, comprehend, and write English.

  • Software Training preferred (LIMS, JDE, etc)

  • Must be flexible with a variety of working situations and schedules.

  • This position is located in San Angelo, Texas and may require up to 10% travel
