Job Description

Responsible for providing clerical support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit. Maintains and updates patients' records for a given unit. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. High school diploma with 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Experience

Preferred
  • Previous experience in a clerical or receptionist position is preferred. Demonstrates positive communication skills with patients, physicians, hospital personnel and visitors. Ability to work under stressful conditions. Good written and oral communication skills. Data entry/computer skills preferred. Able to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.

Education

Required
  • High School or better
