Description:

This opportunity is for the client's Transportation and Public Works teams who serve DOT, County, and City clients. They are a full-service, multi-disciplinary team performing award-winning work in planning, design, survey, and construction.

This individual will be responsible for:

Management of DOT, County, and City transportation construction projects.

Conduct professional meetings including pre-construction, public information, and weekly construction meetings.

Perform civil engineering calculations; prepare engineering plans, designs & reports, and construction oversight including inspection when needed.

Serve as a liaison with clients, government and regulatory authorities, and contractors.

Develop and enhance client relationships and business growth.

Prioritize overall project management and ensure successful project delivery.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring of project team members including other engineers and technical support staff.

Assist with functional and detailed design of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects when in the office.

Contract administration of municipal projects.

About this individual:

We're looking for someone with strong public infrastructure construction administration experience. You should be well-versed in DOT construction and design standards and local, state, and federal government project delivery processes. DOT construction administration experience is a requirement.

You might have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Civil Engineering. You might not. What we need is someone with the experience to lead self-directed work independently, with minimal supervision. We want you to build the team around you by sharing your knowledge and experience with others. We want someone who is highly sought after by our clients to administer their construction projects. A strong track record of recent past projects with good references speaks volumes.

This is primarily a fieldwork position. Travel to job sites will be required, therefore, a valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary. This position is remote, working around South Dakota. Proximity to many future project sites is a benefit to you, us, and our partners. Our construction vehicles are mobile offices. Even while in the field, construction administrators have access to technology and experts.

Winter is coming, so experience with Civil 3D can help fill your time when it's not construction season. The ability to design staging and maintenance of traffic with designers and review plans for constructability is a plus. We don't hire construction staff with the intention to lay them off over winter, they are a crucial part of our team. That said, we are seeking someone who is very adaptable and willing to take on tasks that may be outside their comfort zone.
