The primary role of this non-exempt position is to work with the Director of Marketing Communications and the extended creative team in all aspects of developing, implementing, and managing Haynes and Boone’s creative and design projects from concept through production. This position coordinates with multiple departments, individuals, and locations to provide graphic design services including, but not limited to, advertising materials, print collateral, website/social media graphics, templates, client alerts, invitations, presentation materials, edited photography, videos, and infographics, both in print and electronic format.
Essential Duties
- Design and maintain firm announcements, brochures, client alerts, flyers, advertisements, invitations, website graphics, infographics, and video as needed.
- Design and supervise the production of firm promotional materials and gifts.
- Coordinate and manage all design requests from initial request through completion.
- Basic copy modifications, headline creation, and proofreading.
- Basic HTML creation for web and digital communications.
- Assist in the creation of presentation materials in PowerPoint.
- Simple video creation and updating.
- Ensure brand integrity through the adherence of style guide standards.
- Support website projects through content and imagery additions and maintenance.
- Retouch and size photography and images.
- Create and maintain design templates for reusable creative pieces such as invitations and newsletters.
- Obtain and manage all photo rights for rights-managed imagery.
- Work with external designers and printers through all outsourced creative projects, supporting the creative process, reviewing and approving print proofs, and ensuring adherence to brand standards.

Reporting Relationship
The Graphic Designer reports directly to the Director of Marketing Communications but collaborates closely with the team’s senior designers on all projects.

Qualifications
Knowledge/Experience
Experience adhering and referring to a recognized style guide. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat. Ability to edit basic HTML. Knowledge of basic video editing. Minimum five years’ experience in graphic design, interactive design, and marketing. Professional services marketing experience preferred.
Skills
The position requires robust design, communication (oral and written), and editing skills. The ability to coordinate, prioritize/organize multiple projects and drive deliverables to completion under tight deadlines is imperative. Must be initiative-taking and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Ability to write basic ad copy and headlines. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work in both PC and MAC environments. Strong client service and team-focused attitude. Attention to detail is critical.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Design or Communications.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc. Remains stationary at least 85% of the time. This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs. This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients, and staff. This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time. Frequently identifies and distinguishes colors and correct focus.
