OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT:

Under the direction of the Sr Designer or Design Manager, the Interior Designer I is responsible for acting as an implementation-ambassador of Design Concepts for all specialized Account Types (in Restaurant, Education, Hospitality or Retail Design). The Interior Designer I meets customer specifications while ensuring the highest quality design solutions in accordance with corporate policies and design practices.


DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Develops design plansets from standardized templates, designing technical floor plans, elevations, details, and specifications throughout various design phases of (permit, bid & finals), utilizing Revit (extensively) and CAD for specific markets/customers.
  • Manages individual project schedules, coordinates with internal resources to ensure the timely completion of projects, within estimated hours, utilizing scheduling program.
  • Communicates with Coordination, CAD, Project Management and Sales on a daily/project-basis.
  • Provides direct project output and peer quality control support within design team.
  • Manages individual design projects & output while complying with all standard deliverable practices.
  • Limited client-interaction, more day-to-day project submittals.
  • Supports special projects & assignments as requested.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/4-year degree in job-related field highly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in the industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, (min 2012 release date for both programs) is required.
  • Familiar with interoffice programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and/or SketchUp is a plus.
  • Accepts direction and provides guidance to peers and others, provides mentorship when needed.
  • Self-direct production output based on the account needs at a high level.
  • Effective and professional day to day client communication, internally and externally.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, verbal/written communication skills.
