Job Description:

This Sr Human Resource (HR) Business Partner invests in the future of Southwest’s People in their support of Operations Strategy and Design. This role will work collaboratively with our People Department and Teams & Leaders throughout the Company in order to be a strategic advisor for organizational design. This role is excited to connect with and champion our People, and they’ll help to pilot the future of Southwest Airlines.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Job Summary
Responsible for leading the People strategy for assigned business units, providing strategic counsel and consultative partnership to Leaders to drive growth and evolution.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with assigned departments/portfolios to support People initiatives by understanding the organization's objectives, issues, needs, and key success factors
Develop and maintain partnerships with senior decision makers within assigned department through the development of in-depth knowledge of the business, both strategically and tactically
Serve as an advisor by appropriately challenging Leaders, while maintaining strong business partnership and relationships with assigned departments, Executives, and Leaders applying a high degree of confidence
Partner with Organizational Design, Workforce Effectiveness, and Analytics Team projects and initiatives including, but not limited to, indirect headcount planning, department re-organizations, and workforce metrics
Serve as a strategic business Advisor to the Senior Leadership Team of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues
Serve as Partner regarding department re-organizations using org design methodology
Serve as the first point of contact for Employees and Leaders regarding questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues by partnering with the relevant Centers of Excellence
Advise Leadership on human resource related activities such as strategic staffing and annual performance and merit cycle
May perform other job duties as directed by Employees Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services, including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction
Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan
Skilled in HR technology and information systems.
Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among unrelated events)
Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Ability to use data effectively and be fluent with HR technology to analyze and tell stories with the data
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Expert-level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
Human Resources disciplines with strategic focus
Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $ $118,600 to $131,800 per year * depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
