This role requires the incumbent be able to commute to the Phoenix office at least 1 day a week. The remainder of the work week can be remote. Travel to the Tucson and Las Vegas offices would be approximately 2x to 4x a year or as needed.

The Junior Human Resources Business Partner creates strategic partnerships with the leaders of an assigned function or division to ensure efficient and effective development and delivery of HR programs and services that support the development of organizational and talent capability throughout the organization. The role will build trusted partnerships with key leaders and teams to provide support and consultation in the key disciplines of Human Resources, develop a high level of value-added service, and act as a champion for positive change. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)



Essential Position Functions:

  • Provide value added human resources business delivery; with both high touch, client focused internal consulting, strong metric driven service and transaction support components.
  • Provide advice and counsel to leaders on all organization and human resources issues.
  • Lead and direct the full employee experience for assigned division, including on-boarding, performance management, employee engagement and retention practices.
  • Provide ongoing performance coaching and feedback to the assigned organization’s leaders regarding issues of managerial style, communications, and employee and peer interactions.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution, advising, coaching, and counseling in the resolution of job performance issues.
  • Lead the talent management and succession planning process for assigned department(s)/locations(s).
  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing strategies for HR management and development.
  • Manage annual performance management processes; leading performance calibration, coaching leaders on employee relation initiatives, performance improvement plans, and individual development plans.
  • Consult with leaders on internal movement decisions, transfers, promotions, job enhancements, and ensure decisions are in line with talent and skill gaps, development plans and career pathing.
  • Manage employee relations by addressing and resolving employee issues promptly, effectively, and objectively while complying with applicable laws and policies.
  • Conduct complex Employee Relations investigations and consult with Director of HR and managers on outcomes and next steps.
  • Provide analytical and technical support in the delivery of benefit programs.
  • Provide front-line support to end users for all HRIS systems: troubleshooting, training, and enhancing use.
  • Analyze employee data, prepare reports, and provide recommendations to inform/ impact HR processes, policies and procedures.
  • Document standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and implement process improvements.
  • Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding HR activities and ensure compliance.
  • Other duties as required.


Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in human resources and previous management experience required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, team member relations, diversity, performance management, local, state, and federal respective employment laws.
  • Demonstrated experience applying independent judgment and discretion on sensitive and complex employee issues and working closely and effectively with leadership at different levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of multi-unit HR department and/or relevant industry preferred.
  • Possess both strategic thinking capability and “hands on” HR plan implementation experience.
  • Must have intermediate HRIS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
  • Must be able to efficiently use a Windows-based computer.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
