About You:

Northern Hospitality Group (NHG)/49th State Brewing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our existing top-notch team. If you're a passionate self-starter, NHG is a great place to get ahead. The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for working directly with the Maintenance Manager, and performing general maintenance and repair of the building, grounds, and equipment. Primary responsibilities will involve help with electrical, plumbing, and carpentry assistants, and assistance with other projects assigned to the maintenance team.

Responsibilities for Maintenance Assistant

• Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance
• Clean interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the building
• Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor
• Comply with all safety and health regulations
• Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor
• Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs, as directed by management.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues
• Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors

Qualifications for Maintenance Assistant

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors
• May be required to work outside of normal work hours

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position requires moving of products weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for 8 hour shifts

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Hours and days range due to level of business. During high season expect full work weeks with hours before open and close. Slower periods might result in shorter shifts and lighter workload.
